POSITION: Shipping Associate
SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm (OT as required)
PAY RATE: $20.00 - $22.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefit Package
LOCATION: Minnkota Windows West Fargo, ND
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the general handling of materials where applicable. The handling of material may be associated with various areas, including unloading in-bound material, loading out-bound material or moving and distributing material to various operation areas for fabrication.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Receive incoming materials and verify accuracy of shipments against purchase orders.
- Receive and stage glass and screens, including but not limited to repositioning, sorting and/or locating as needed.
- Unload materials from trucks and safely store them in designated areas, following proper storage guidelines.
- Maintain an organized and clean warehouse environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Assist in the inventory control process by labeling and tagging materials.
- Organize materials within the warehouse and ensure that the production floor is adequately stocked with the required items.
- Pick and prepare materials for the production line as requested by the Production Supervisor.
- Perform basic material handling tasks, including lifting, stacking, and moving materials using hand trucks or forklifts.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring that materials are handled properly.
- Assist senior material handlers in other tasks as needed.
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies, as well as but not limited to rotating inventory as necessary.
- Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
- Ability to communicate with team members verbally and non-verbally.
- Responsible for snow removal as needed.
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALITIES
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
- Basic knowledge of warehouse safety and material handling techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Clean driving history with no major violations in the past 3 years.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Specific Requirements for Level 2
Material Handler 2:
In addition to Level 1 requirements:
- Oversee the receiving, inspection, and storing of materials, ensuring that they meet quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate the flow of materials to production lines, ensuring the right materials are delivered on time and in the right quantity.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize shortages or overages.
- Perform regular inventory audits and maintain optimal material levels to support production schedules.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely material delivery and resolve any material-related issues.
- Work with supervisors to troubleshoot material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and production delays, and proactively address issues.
- Train and mentor entry-level material handlers, providing guidance on proper material handling procedures.
- Lead the material handling team, providing training and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Implement and recommend improvements to material handling processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure that all materials are properly tagged, labeled, and stored to maintain accurate inventory.
- Proficiency in material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks).
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- 2-3 years of material handling experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management (experience with warehouse management systems preferred).
- Demonstrate time management and ability to hit deadlines.
