Job Title: Material Flow Technician
Location: Louisville, KY
Pay Rate: $20-24/hour, W2
Duration: 2+ Month Contract
Summary:
- Manage the stream of product cylinders into the workspace for filling and organize return and prepared cylinders in the storage area.
- Assist in logistics efforts and inventory management of raw materials and finished goods.
- Promote a culture of "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" with actions and words daily.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain safety by observing work areas and avoiding unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Report any observed hazards to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety policies including HAZWOPER, Electronic Communications Policy (ECP), and Critical Life Safety policies.
- Follow all work processes and instructions relevant to specific assignments.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
- Organize gas pads by customer, product type, and preparation status.
- Identify cylinders per order and bring them to H-space for fills.
- Conduct inventory control counts and replenish bins from stock.
- Deliver products from production back to gas pad or warehouse.
- Load/unload cylinders from the freezer and trucks, including block and brace.
- Assist in loading dry ice into containment vessels for product shipment.
- Perform cycle counts for the site.
- Complete daily forklift inspections and maintain propane inventory.
- Successfully complete all assigned training.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Fitness for duty; e.g., ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and roll cylinders.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols.
- Understanding of the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases.
- Quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus.
- Adaptable to change and a variety of challenges.
- Organized with attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines.
- Able to work in an outside work environment.
- Medically cleared to drive a forklift.
Work Environment:
- Safety PPE required: Nomex coveralls or uniform, safety glasses, steel toe boots, personal gas monitor, leather, cut-resistant, and nitrile gloves.
- Work mostly outside and in a fan-cooled building (warehouse).
- Standing for multiple hours/day.
- In/Out of delivery trucks for deliveries and shipments.
- Break areas available in air-conditioned space.
