Summary
The MEC Warehouse Worker is responsible for inspecting all MEC equipment for damage and defects, and then processing the equipment accordingly by disposing of it or adding it back into inventory. This role will keep precise inventory counts and stocks to prepare and issue MEC kits to drivers as requested. The MEC Worker is also responsible for the removal, and securement of personal items from tractors, and assisting drivers with MEC equipment use. Superior customer service and safe handling of equipment is always expected.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma and 1-2 year’s experience equipment management or warehouse, usually gained through work experience or vocational training.
- Previous warehouse experience preferred.
- Must have the ability to operate vehicles and heavy equipment; valid driver’s license is required.
- Must have forklift certification or become certified within 90 days of employment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish trust and rapport with all levels of staff. Able to relate effectively to diverse cultures.
- Must be a team player, amenable to a variety of work projects.
- Willing and able to work overtime when business needs arise.
- Must be able to demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
- Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal).
- Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect all equipment for damage and defects. Send items out for repairs or destroying to minimize unreasonable risk exposure.
- Ensure all kept equipment is in safe, working condition, ready to be dispersed to drivers.
- Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers and drivers.
- Create and issue new driver MEC kits per standard items lists. Ensure kits are ready to be issued.
- Keep accurate counts of items handed out and returned to ensure precise inventory.
- Remove MEC and driver personal belongings from tractors as necessary. Secure items, and process as needed for driver pick-up, shipping, or disposal.
- Assist drivers with helping to load and unload equipment along with explaining how equipment can and should be used.
- Process physical inventory counts on returned items and enter into the MEC inventory system for reissue.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness for effective and safe use by putting away tools and equipment, sweeping, and throwing away any garbage.
- Must demonstrate a proactive commitment to ATS corporate values and the success of all staff.

- Complete work responsibilities outside of normal business hours as needed and infrequent travel may be required.

Physical Requirements
Constantly positioning self under, on top of, or in awkward positions to work on equipment.
Frequently moving about to obtain tools, supplies, parts and to inspect equipment.
Constantly uses hand tools and power hand tools to repair equipment, manipulate parts into position or enter data into computer.
Constantly inspecting and assessing equipment to determine whether to replace or repair and the best approach to replace/repair.
Intermittently communicates with others regarding work questions, processes, procedures and timelines.
Must be able to move/position parts, tools equipment:
- From 1 to 10 lbs. Frequently
- From 11 to 25 lbs. frequently
- From 25 to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Over 50 lbs. occasionally
Exposure to:
- Loud noises constantly requiring hearing protection.
- Temperature extremes intermittently due to outside weather conditions.
- Dirt, dust, grease, chemicals and odors constantly.
- Situations requiring eye protection and steel toed boots and when welding, an approved shield.
Hourly Positions
Compensation & Benefits:
· The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $21.00 - $25.00. Hourly pay rate offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work . In addition to the hourly rate of pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
