Job Summary and Qualifications
· Demonstrates advanced clinical skills and ability to assess patients to determine appropriate level of care.
· Identifies cultural considerations, gender identity and preferred language for patients and family
· Demonstrates advance practice in assessments, and all other documentation timely and in compliance with requirements (as appropriate to scope)
· Assesses environment and patient’s safety status and reports/responds to actual and potential safety issues or changes in the patient's condition
· Identifies risk factors, screening criteria and interventions for patients with special precautions (e.g., suicide, homicide, falls, elopement)
· Recognizes and acts upon unexpected assessment findings
· Leads in ensuring a safe structured milieu with evidence based treatment modalities/resources
· Maintains active and timely communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary team and continuum of care providers
· Provides education and guidance regarding state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, duty to warn and guardianship processes.
· Assesses, collaborates, coordinates and provides guidance on complex discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with the multidisciplinary team.
· Develops and maintains a community resource guide including access to public assistance/alternatives.
· Facilitates and participates in Community Education, Activities and Support Groups (as appropriate to scope)
· Demonstrates appropriate application of age/developmental stage specific standards, policies and procedures, and guidelines in assessing and treating patients to ensure patient safety.
· Maintains professionalism and uses good communication skills in interacting with peers, staff, patients, families and in resolving conflicts.
· Demonstrates understanding of and ability to maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients and families.
· Serves as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives, and other parties as appropriate regarding behavioral services
· Reviews, coaches and assists with training of new staff/interns as assigned within approved practice and program guidelines.
What qualifications you will need:
· Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
· Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
· Masters Degree – REQUIRED
· Provisional Licensure may be REQUIRED – LPC-A/LMSW/ETC
