Job Summary

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! FIRST AND FOREMOST THE POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SERVING MARINES, SAILORS AND FAMILY MEMBERS.

Major Duties

Supports outreach efforts for the MCCS-SC Marketing Department. Provides short, informative briefs to promote the use of MCCS-SC mobile applications and websites while encouraging the use of local programs and services. Attend large events and set up an info booth to promote MCCS mobile applications. Manage the use of MCCS Outreach Booths by tracking reservations and ensuring program representatives have the tools and resources needed to promote their program and upcoming events. Writes and edits articles, organizes information, updates marketing platforms, and manages the MCCS-SC public facing calendar. Attends events to take pictures and capture the story for articles. Utilizes a variety of communication methods and techniques, to include oral, written, visual, and social media for the purpose of informing the public about programs, services, and special events sponsored by or affiliated with MCCS operations. Develops and utilizes a variety of ideas and concepts designed to enhance awareness and utilization of MCCS facilities and services. Assists with writing articles, calendar descriptions, and voice over for promotional videos or other content needed to support our comprehensive marketing program.

Initiates and prepares routine correspondence such as letters, memorandum, and messages using a computer and various software. Responds to routine telephone inquiries, emails, and social media messages in a timely manner. Assists with the coordination of MCCS publicity through newsletters, articles, brochures, posters, and other media sources. Assists director and staff members by performing various marketing, clerical, and administrative tasks.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Three years¿ experience that demonstrates work knowledge in marketing related areas; to include calendar management, managing tight deadlines, social media, and face-to-face marketing/outreach. Knowledge of MCCS programs and activities preferred. Requires the ability to present information to various audiences. Ability to work as both a team player and independently with minimal supervision. Must have excellent written and oral presentation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization as well as military personnel. Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment as improvements are made within the department. Requires occasional evening and weekend shifts to attend various events and activities in a marketing capacity. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. A valid Driver¿s License is required.
