Overview:
The Marketing Proposal Writer owns assigned RFPs from receipt through submission, playing a critical role in CHP's business development success. Working under the direction of the Director of Proposals and in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, the Proposal Writer is responsible for producing high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposal content across CHP's service areas. This is a specialized role that requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex clinical and operational information into clear, competitive narratives.
This remote role reports to the Director of Proposals.
Core Responsibilities:
Proposal Development
- Own assigned RFPs from receipt through final submission, managing all aspects of the process
- Draft executive summaries, technical narratives, staffing plans, organizational overviews, value proposition sections, and responses to specific RFP questions
- Develop and maintain compliance matrices for each assigned proposal, ensuring all requirements are addressed
- Coordinate with clinical leadership, operations, HR, and other subject matter contributors to gather accurate and timely content
- Collaborate with the creative contractor on proposal formatting, graphics, and document design
- Manage proposal timelines including internal milestones, review checkpoints, and final submission deadlines
- Conduct thorough final reviews for compliance, consistency, grammar, and alignment with CHP's voice and brand standards
Content and Library Management
- Contribute to and maintain CHP's proposal content library, including reusable boilerplate, past performance narratives, staff bios, and standard responses
- Update content library materials following contract wins, operational changes, or new service area additions
- Assist with developing new content as CHP expands into new markets or service lines
Collaboration and Support
- Support the Director of Proposals during high-volume periods, including concurrent submission timelines
- Participate in proposal debriefs and incorporate feedback into future submissions
- Coordinate with Business Development on RFP prioritization and strategic positioning
- Maintain organized proposal files, version histories, and submission records
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field
- Minimum one year of proposal writing, grant writing, or government RFP response experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with document formatting and production
- Excellent grammar, proofreading, and editing skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information from multiple contributors into a coherent, readable narrative
- Able to work PT (Pacific time) 8am-5pm with some flexibility
- Candidates must have a dedicated, distraction-free workspace and reliable internet connection.
Preferred
- Background in healthcare, corrections, public sector, or government contracting
- Familiarity with proposal management tools, compliance tracking, or content management systems
- Experience working in a remote environment with cross-functional teams

Salary Range: $70,000-90,000
