This is not a traditional CMO leadership role.
We are looking for a systems-oriented growth operator with strong marketing expertise — someone who understands how AI, automation, analytics, customer experience, and operational execution all connect together to drive revenue growth.
The ideal candidate thinks more like an engineer/operator than a traditional marketer and is excited about building scalable growth infrastructure, solving bottlenecks, and moving quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Hiring Process:

What You’ll Own:
- Demand generation across three brands — Golden Rule PHCE, River City Heating and Cooling, and Cornerstone Roofing & Exteriors. Google Ads, SEO, local search, CTV, and channels we haven’t tried yet.
- The AI marketing stack — Avoca AI for voice, Claude for operational intelligence, a custom-built analytics dashboard, and ServiceTitan for the full service lifecycle. You’ll use these daily and push them further.
- Market growth — You’ll lead the strategy to grow market share across our markets while key competitors lose ground.
- Brand and reputation management — Google Business Profile optimization, review strategy (4.8 across 9,200+ reviews), and community presence in every market we serve.
- Team development — Work with our Marketing Manager and Data Lead to build a high-performing marketing team for the next stage of growth.
- End-to-end customer communication — making sure every step of the customer journey is optimized for success.
- Gold Club (service partner program) growth and retention — reaching new Gold Club members, retaining existing ones, and optimizing the Gold Club customer success journey at every stage.
- AI automation and marketing content creation — bringing the hands-on knowledge to create content yourself and teach the team to do the same, moving fast in a three-day window to generate the demand calls and system checks/inspections needed to fill the three-day call board.
What Makes This Different:
- You report to the CEO. Mark Paup started Golden Rule in 1999 and still runs it. No investors, no board, no private equity overlords. When you have an idea, you pitch it to the person who can say yes — today.
- The AI stack is real, not a roadmap. Production deployments of AI voice (Avoca), AI operations (Claude), and custom analytics. You’re not “exploring AI” — you’re scaling it.
- The work is tangible. Every campaign directly determines whether a family gets their furnace fixed tonight. Not clicks. Not impressions. Real heat for real people.
What You Bring:
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years owning a full marketing function end-to-end — strategy and budget, not just execution
- Proven track record building and scaling multi-channel paid acquisition (Google Ads and beyond), managing monthly budgets of $50K+
- Strong marketing analytics command — you can read a funnel, diagnose a conversion gap, and fix it without being told, and defend the numbers directly to a CEO
- Fluency with AI tools and data-driven decision-making — you don’t need to code, but you think in data and move fast
Nice-to-Haves:
- Direct experience marketing home services, trades, or local services at scale
- Hands-on expertise with ServiceTitan, HubSpot, or comparable CRM/field-service platforms (beyond basic familiarity)
- A track record running multi-location or multi-brand marketing programs
- Advanced command of SEO, schema markup, and Google Business Profile optimization — and the ability to teach it to a team
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $110,000–$145,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)
Performance Bonus: Tied to lead generation and revenue growth KPIs
