The Marketing & Communications Specialist at the Boston University Center for Information & Systems Engineering (CISE) is responsible for elevating the Center's digital presence, research visibility, and community engagement. This role ensures that CISE's digital footprint reflects its core mission, cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, and values. This work involves manages all core communication channels-including email marketing, social media, and web content-while collaborating with CISE management, faculty, academic partners, and BU Marketing & Communications (MarCom) to ensure brand alignment, data accuracy, and institutional impact. The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for executing CISE's branding and outreach strategy across all public-facing platforms. Daily responsibilities include developing and managing content for social media channels and producing engaging multimedia content and researcher spotlights to highlight faculty and student achievements. This position oversees the maintenance and optimization of the CISE website (WordPress), ensuring engaging content, accurate faculty directories, optimal SEO performance, and a seamless user experience. Additionally, the position involves curating and distributing the Center's email newsletters and event promotions while maintaining clean, organized contact databases. The role provides robust organizational and marketing support for CISE-sponsored seminars, workshops, and major conferences.
Required Skills
This position requires strong communication, organizational, people-facing skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Bachelor's degree required
3-5 years of relevant work experience
