Overview At Lighthouse Youth & Family Services, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will help tell stories of youth and families who overcome challenges, building brighter futures. Reporting to the Communications Director, the role collaborates across programs, development, and leadership to advance our mission through compelling storytelling, community engagement, and strategic communications.Responsibilities Write and develop content for email campaigns, newsletters, marketing materials, reports, website content, and other communications.Gather stories, data, and insights from programs and staff across the organization.Craft compelling and ethical stories that highlight the impact of Lighthouse's work.Support awareness initiatives that strengthen community engagement, advance Lighthouse's reputation, and inspire support for our mission.Assist with media relations and press releases.Contribute to social media planning and content creation.Support fundraising and community events through marketing, logistics, scripts, and event execution.Capture photos and videos that help document and share the impact of Lighthouse programs, events, and community engagement efforts.Assist with website updates and content management.Ensure consistency in Lighthouse's brand voice and messaging across all communications.Qualifications Exceptional writer and storyteller.Comfortable building relationships across programs and interacting with youth, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners.Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.Creative, collaborative, and adaptable.Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.Passionate about mission-driven work and community impact.Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum of two years of marketing, communications, public relations, or related experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred:Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design tools.Familiarity with email marketing platforms.Experience writing for multiple audiences and communication channels.Experience interviewing sources and developing human-interest stories.Basic photography and videography skills.Work Environment This hybrid position includes both remote and in-office work, with regular on-site collaboration, event coverage, and community engagement.
