Job Description

TITLE: MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO: MARKETING DIRECTOR

STATUS: HOURLY NON-EXEMPT

 

Purpose

 

Under the direction of Executive and Senior Management, the Marketing and Social Media Specialist will assist in the development and implementation of the marketing and strategic plans for the credit union. Will provide research activities on marketing trends within the industry. Recommend marketing and promotional strategies. Perform a variety of creative and support duties related to the marketing function within the credit union. Create social media campaigns and provide day to day management of the credit union's social media channels. Implement social media best practices across all platforms.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing this degree) in marketing, communications, or related field
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a marketing related position
  • Experience with product promotions and community events
  • Excellent written, communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of market research, surveys, and data analytics
  • Proficient in Social Media management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, Word Press, Adobe Indesign and Adobe Premier Pro is a plus

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist the Marketing Director with development and implementation of the overall marketing plan.
  • Research industry trends and demographics in the field of membership and develop recommendations for products and services or marketing programs.
  • Coordinate member communications.
  • Obtain and/or coordinate bids for all phases of the production of marketing materials.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for the production of marketing materials.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns and community events.
  • Create consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement and promoting social media campaigns all in keeping with NCFCU's social media policy and brand identity.
  • Creates marketing and social media campaigns, strategies and content, content ideation, and implementation schedules.
  • Communicate with social media followers, including responding to inquiries in a timely manner. Assist with crisis management, negative comments, negative reviews.
  • Use tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite Pro, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company's social media presence and performance.
  • Make recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategies for optimal results.
  • Stay up to date on best practices and emerging trends and regulations in social media.
  • Utilize a range of computer software applications to include PowerPoint, Adobe, Canva and other graphics software.
  • Produce quarterly member newsletter with input from the Senior Management Team.
  • Conduct quarterly Branch Marketing Audits. Edit marketing collateral and other marketing materials.
  • Assist with ordering logo items & promotional materials.
  • Takes photos during credit union events. Maintain photos for credit union usage.
  • Assists with Annual Meeting and Staff Training Day as needed.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned.
