OverviewGenerac Power Systems is seeking a Mobile Independent Market Development Manager to join our commercial & mobile channel. In this high-impact position, you'll be responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with independent mobile dealers, analyzing territory opportunities to create and execute market penetration plans, prospecting new business, achieving sales budgets and providing world‑class customer support. The successful candidate must be comfortable presenting the benefits of a technical product and be willing to travel up to 70% of the time.Location and ReportingThis position will be based in Southeast (NC/SC/GA/AL/FL/TN) and report to the Director of Sales.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentify and close sales opportunities in accordance with strategic plans and financial objectivesAnalyze territory opportunities and customer needsBuild and manage strategic relationships with key decision makersSupport new promotional programsCreate and implement solution‑based sales strategiesProvide world‑class customer supportConduct sales presentations and provide product trainingDevelop and execute business plans as defined by channel specific marketing programsFill sales fundamentals and channel specific training classesProvide reconnaissance of competitors' influence and develop a plan to counter their influence within assigned territoryMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field or equivalent experience1 year(s) related experiencePreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of OEM role in 2‑step distribution modelPrevious experience using SAP, Sales Force or equivalent CRMPrevious trade experience in one or more of the following industries: renewables, utility, battery, solar, power generation, or installed equipmentKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAnalytical ability to understand key business metricsSelf‑motivated with the ability to work independently in a field‑based roleAbility to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsProven ability to implement process improvements within a matrix organizationAbility to build strong interpersonal relationshipsEffective negotiation skills with the ability to understand the complex sales processExceptional time‑management and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple audiencesEffective presentation skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuitePhysical DemandsPerform duties that require regular talking and hearing; use hands to manipulate objects or controls; stand and walk regularly; occasionally stoop, bend or reach above shoulders; lift up to 25 pounds; frequent computer‑based work.
