Responsibilities:
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester invites applications for a full-time therapist position to join its Strong Family Therapy team. Strong Family Therapy Services treat individuals and families across the lifespan using a biopsychosocial-systems framework. Therapists provide assessment, safety planning, individual, couples, and family therapy and regularly practice collaboration with important members of a patient's social and medical system. Strong Family Therapy also hosts many trainees from different discplines in the department of psychiatry and all therapists participate in some educational activity with trainees. The successful candidate will have expertise in evidence-based treatments, systems-based frameworks for therapy, and will be skilled in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. We are seeking a qualified master's level candidate (LCSW or LCSW-R, LMFTs, or MHCs) with strong clinical and diagnostic skills to join our vibrant team. The therapist provides mental health services for individuals and their families who have a diagnosable mental illness, functions as the primary clinician and is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, therapy/counseling, and education services for patients and families. The therapist also provides support for clinicians in training and may participate in coverage for other Division of Collaborative Care and Wellness Programs as needed. Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds required. Candidates must be available to see patients two evenings a week.
