Major Duties

What to Expect

  • Independently initiates, manages and/or coordinates all administrative actions and projects for all branches within M&FP Division.

  • Independently performs and accomplishes planning, organization, coordination and accomplishment at the managerial level for all operational and administrative support work required for each of the departments.

  • Coordinate, monitor and take action to ensure that all administrative or operational related projects are completed on time to the standard acceptable to the Director.

  • Coordinate and track all Marine Corps Action Tracking System (MCATS) tasks.

  • Develop and conduct comprehensive M&FP program briefs; and is responsible for developing, reviewing, and updating policy letters and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • Maintain and track HQMC mandated accreditation annual requirements.

  • Serve as an internal liaison in support of human resources and administrative & training requirements; and as a special project officer to include setting priorities, establishing methods, time frames and accomplishment of projects.

  • Participate in Commanding General Inspection Program (CGIP); formulates and maintains a system of Internal Management Control (IMC).

  • Assist in planning, reviewing, interpreting and implementing policies established by higher authority.

  • Assists the Division in Computing financial data and prepares reports and financial briefs that inform budget execution. Reviews documents for validity, budget and expenditure limitations. Compare and contrasts current and historical data to determine trends and anticipate future requirements. Liaisons with Financial Management Office and Regional Procurement Office to ensure efficiency in budget execution processes.

  • Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timesheets, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of three years of experience in business management or related field of work area that demonstrates ability to plan, coordinate, innovate, implement, and improve projects and programs.

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to work of the position is preferred.

  • One year of supervisory experience.

  • Must have the ability to organize and coordinate multiple high visibility projects simultaneously.

  • Skill to deal with employees at various levels in the organization and to represent the division with customers external to the organization.

  • Must have the ability and skill to research and analyze situations in order to solve or resolve problems and complete tasks.

  • Skill to operate a personal computer and associated peripheral equipment and software.

  • Skill to prepare documentation and presentations in proper format.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (nature or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
