Job Description: Q.E.D. Systems, Inc., a ship repair company, has openings for qualified individuals with 5 years of experience in marine electrical applications. Active-duty shipboard or civilian shipyard experience in any electrical trade is highly desired. Experience with small marine boat crafts, multi-pin connectors, fiber optic connections, and cableways is a plus. The individual will report directly to the Foreman or Project Supervisor that is responsible for executing the project.
Job Requirements/skill sets:
- Installation, alteration, repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and operation of electrical equipment or systems, such as distribution panels, console wiring, instrumentation wiring, control switches/wiring, power supplies, and lighting.
- Lay out work, determine material needs, select load/cable/conduit sizes, determine power sources, choose wire gauge, groom and band cable runs, pack Multi-Cable Transits, and determine type and size of panels.
- Use electrical or electronic measuring instruments and devices, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and Frequency Testing equipment.
- You must be able to work aboard ships and under industrial repair conditions following all safety regulations.
- All applicants must be eligible for a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential and Common Access Card (CAC).
- The candidate must be able to interpret NAVSEA technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Education Requirements: Must have a high school diploma/GED.
