Location: Tewksbury, MA - 2 Radcliff Road

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday Friday, Flexible Start Time: 6:00 AM, 6:30 AM, or 7:00 AM)
Summary
The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for assembling, testing, and reworking electro-mechanical assemblies and instrument components used in advanced chemical analysis equipment. This role supports production operations by following standardized work instructions, maintaining quality and safety standards, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components following work instructions and production procedures.
- Perform basic functional testing of assemblies and sub-components.
- Support production cell activities including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in daily team meetings to communicate production updates, challenges, and improvement ideas.
- Follow ESD, ISO9000, and 5S standards to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform transactions in the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Rework, repair, and reassemble products based on engineering or production instructions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Marketing, and Manufacturing.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Practical Process Improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all company policies and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, production, operations, laboratory, or a related environment.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Soldering experience.
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts such as Kaizen and 5S.
- Experience using MRP systems.
- Electronics manufacturing environment requiring adherence to ISO9000 and ESD standards.
- Prolonged sitting and microscope work may be required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and closed-toe shoes, is required (provided by the company).
- Clean, organized manufacturing environment with training provided.
