About Wolfe

Recognized among Pittsburgh's 2024 Top Workplaces and Fastest-Growing Companies, Wolfe has been a leader in the Gift Card and FinTech sectors for over 25 years. We partner with national brands such as Pizza Hut, KFC, Pandora Jewelry, Kendra Scott, Wawa, Journeys and others to manage their gift card programs. Our flagship consumer brand, PerfectGift.com, enables customers to create customized gift cards. We are a fast-paced environment, like kayaking down a white-water river, not canoeing on a lake.

About The Role

The Manufacturing Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for verifying the quality of printed orders produced in our manufacturing center. The role inspects color, alignment, and the integrity of how each gift card is attached to different packing types, audits orders end-to-end, and ensures every shipment meets Wolfe quality standards before it leaves the floor.

Beyond inspection, this role brings a process-engineering mindset to the production floor. The QA Specialist will identify gaps in current workflows, propose automation opportunities, surface cost-saving ideas, and help leadership define the KPIs that hold the manufacturing center accountable.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect printed orders for color accuracy, alignment, and print quality; audit machine output to ensure gift cards are securely attached to packaging and verify all shipping information before orders leave the floor.
  • Conduct end-to-end order audits to confirm process adherence, validate special handling forms, and maintain inspection logs and daily/weekly KPI reports for Operations leadership.
  • Identify gaps in manufacturing workflows and recommend automation opportunities; partner with Operations and Engineering on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for recurring defects and lead root-cause analysis.
  • Assist in testing new technologies and automation systems in the robotics center; ensure compliance to PCI Standards and Wolfe manufacturing standards.
  • Track cost-saving opportunities across materials, shipping, labor, and rework; develop and maintain quality KPIs for the manufacturing center.

Impact Statement

For more clarity on the role, below are the success metrics and measurements for this role in the first 90 to 120 days.:
  • First-Pass Yield: Percentage of orders passing inspection on the first attempt; target continuous improvement week-over-week.
  • Defect Rate: Reduce defects per total orders shipped; establish baseline in first 30 days.
  • Process Improvements: Number of improvement initiatives proposed and implemented per quarter; at least 2 in first 120 days.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual inspection acumen, particularly for color, alignment, and finish; ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive inspection tasks.
  • Comfort working around manufacturing equipment (production printers, attachment machines); basic data tracking and reporting skills (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across Operations and Engineering teams.
  • Preferred: Coursework or internship experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, SPC, FMEA, or 5 Whys; familiarity with print/finishing operations or interest in automation and vision-based inspection systems.
