Production Supervisor

Role location: Riverside, CA Role is Temp to Perm Payrate for role is $40.00 per hour. 3rd Shift 4 10's with flexibility for rolling schedule for product need. Training will be provided in all production areas. Once training has been completed, the worker will go to 3rd shift.

As a Production Supervisor at our soup facility, you'll be at the helm of our kitchen operations, ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality soups. Your responsibilities will include supervising production staff, overseeing production schedules, and ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards. You'll collaborate with other departments to coordinate ingredient procurement, monitor inventory levels, and optimize production processes. Additionally, you'll be responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, enforcing food safety protocols, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency. Your leadership and expertise will be essential in ensuring that our soup production meets demand while upholding our commitment to excellence in flavor and quality.

Main responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead, supervise, and support production associates. Compose and deliver performance evaluations. Corrective action notices and provide constructive feedback.
  • Quality Control: Train, monitor, and enforce quality control standards. Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.
  • Inventory Management: Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory. Coordinate with the supply chain to optimize stock levels.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions. Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce and promote safety protocols. Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.
  • Communication: Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners. (e.g., quality, logistics, maintenance). Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Training and Development: Train new production employees. Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve production-related issues promptly. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.) Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment. Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate production records and reports. Generate reports for management on production metrics.

What we are searching for:

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience: Two (2) or more years of leadership experience in a production environment. One (1) or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles. Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce. Ability to manage and develop employees. Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
