About Smart Infrastructure - Electrification and Automation
The Electrification and Automation EA Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of todays and tomorrows power grid
The Knightdale facility will deliver integrated electrical skid assemblies that combine power distribution and power conversion equipment with protection and automation systems. Electrical skids provide outdoor rated modular value-add solutions for key vertical markets to improve delivery reliability and lower total cost of ownership for customers.
We are looking for a 2nd Shift Production Manager. This position will be based in Knightdale NC.
We are seeking a 2nd Shift Production Manager to support operations at the Skid facility at our SieSAW Knightdale NC location. This role is a key part of an expanding leadership team and is critical to ensuring safe efficient and high-quality production while fostering a culture of ownership accountability and continuous improvement in a manufacturing startup environment. As a Production Manager you will lead day-to-day manufacturing operations develop frontline talent and partner cross-functionally to drive operational excellence and meet business objectives.
Reporting to the Plant Manager the 2nd Shift Production Manager will lead production activities for Siemens skid assembly one-of-a-kind operations in KnightdaleRaleigh NC. You will manage production activities and report operational KPIs including Safety Quality Delivery Cost and People SQCDP as well as drive operational improvements.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and manage day‑to‑day production operations to exceed safety quality delivery cost and customer performance targets
Drive continuous improvement initiatives including 6S waste elimination cycle time reduction and process optimization
Plan and direct capital investments and resource allocation to improve productivity optimize inventory and align capacity with sales demand
Develop and engage talent by building leadership capability fostering accountability and promoting a strong ownership culture
Oversee production systems data accuracy and compliance across SAP Salesforce Dayforce audits and customer visits
Youll win us over by having the following qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or working knowledge of a manufacturing facility
Managerial understanding of critical success factors in an assembly manufacturing or operations environment
Strong process mindset demonstrated through process improvement roles lean manufacturing experience
Knowledge of MS Office suite scheduling systems including SAP and Salesforce.com
Ability to work swing shifts including day and weekend shifts as required for coverage
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors or masters degree typically in Business Administration Management Operations Industrial Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar fieldFamiliarity with MV and LV switchgear power transformers protection and automation systems PV BESS inverters and data center applications
Experience with ATO ETO and CTO components in electrical products manufacturing
Results- and solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated effective communication skills at all levels of the organization
Ability to create accountability lead by example and manage manufacturing supervisors
Strong team-building and people management skills including succession planning and developing future leaders
Ability to make sound decisions independently
Strong collaboration with Engineering Scheduling Purchasing Logistics Quality Finance and other functions
Experience in a startup environment
Lean Six Sigma certification
