Position: Manufacturing Operator
Location: Detroit, MI 48201
Duration: 3 Months

Shift: Monday Friday from 11:00 PM 07:30 AM

Summary:

The Manufacturing Operator plays a key role in the production of animal-origin peptones within a manufacturing environment. This position involves handling raw animal tissues, operating production equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an environment with strong odors and exposure to chemicals.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and load materials into vacuum dryers.
  • Perform routine cleaning, sanitization, and basic equipment inspections.
  • Accurately document production activities and equipment checks.
  • Operate pallet jacks to move raw materials and finished products.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), batch records, and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect finished products for defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to maintain efficient production flow.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and raw animal-origin materials.
  • Comfortable working in environments with strong odors.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and material handling equipment.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Routine exposure to chemicals and animal-origin raw materials.
  • Exposure to strong odors associated with manufacturing processes.
  • Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hair nets, and beard nets where applicable.
  • Additional PPE such as Tyvek suits, face shields, lab coats, and protective gloves may be required depending on tasks performed.
