Lead Day-to-Day Manufacturing in Danbury, CT

Step into a hands-on leadership role where every shift you guide people, prioritize safety, and turn plans into finished product. As our Manufacturing Operations Team Lead, you’ll orchestrate daily production on the floor, keeping quality high, schedules tight, and your team engaged.

A Day in the Role

You start by reviewing the production schedule and yesterday’s KPIs. You walk the floor, align the team on priorities, and rebalance staffing to match changing demand. Throughout the day, you spot-check quality, coach operators, and coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance to resolve issues before they impact throughput. When a bottleneck appears, you adjust workflows and implement quick corrective actions. Before wrap-up, you finalize production reports, note improvement ideas, and prepare tomorrow’s plan.

What You’ll Own

  • Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet output, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Monitor schedules and reallocate resources to address shifting priorities and volume.
  • Lead, train, and mentor production staff; model a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Conduct routine quality checks and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Partner with QA and Maintenance to optimize equipment uptime and product conformance.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, metrics, and reports.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices to elevate productivity.

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Track record supervising manufacturing teams with deep knowledge of production operations.
  • Proven leadership: coaching, performance development, and team motivation.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to floor challenges.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Clear, effective communicator—written and verbal.
  • Comfort with manufacturing software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime when business needs require.

Proficiencies

  • Supervisory Experience
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
