A day in this role
You start with a floor walk-through: review the production schedule, confirm machines are up and running (and coordinate swift repairs when they aren’t), and kick off a short huddle to align the assembly, testing, and packaging teams on the day’s targets. You verify that work instructions, parts lists, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials are staged for current jobs. As production ramps, you monitor output, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and secure extra resources when needed. Throughout the day you collaborate with other departments, validate that builds meet specifications and required codes, and keep the environment clean and safe. You also coach, hire, train, and cross-train team members to ensure the operation can flex with demand—and you’re ready to step into adjacent work areas to cover staffing gaps.
