Lead High-Volume Production with Precision and Purpose

As our Manufacturing Operations Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day plant operations under the guidance of the Assistant Plant Manager. You will own safe, cost-effective, and on-time production; align materials and inventory with schedules; and drive process optimization to meet the business plan while ensuring all regulatory requirements are met. You’ll also cultivate technical capability and standard work across the team, and partner with Management and Accounting to set and uphold operating budgets.

A day in this role

You arrive to a data-rich dashboard, review overnight performance, and then walk the floor—connecting with Team Leads, reinforcing safe work practices, and removing roadblocks. You adjust schedules to match demand, collaborate with Technical Managers to prioritize maintenance, and sit down with Quality to evaluate process capability. In the afternoon, you coach leaders on problem-solving, validate improvements with statistical checks, and prepare a concise performance update for senior leadership.

What you will own

  • Create and sustain a safe, healthy workplace—equipping teams with the information and tools to work incident-free and in full compliance with government and company policies.
  • Manage all facets of manufacturing performance (safety, quality, service, productivity) to deliver exceptional customer outcomes efficiently.
  • Shape a culture aligned to our core vision and values; champion Operational Excellence through the Trivium Production System (TPS).
  • Lead continuous improvement using data and statistical methods: measure losses, implement countermeasures, verify effectiveness, and iterate.
  • Ensure equipment reliability; coordinate with Technical Managers to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Provide clear leadership and performance management to Operations Team Leads, emphasizing teamwork, transparency, and structured problem-solving.
  • Uncover and execute cost-reduction initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
  • Build effective production and crewing schedules to optimize throughput, quality, and inventory; delegate and monitor progress.
  • Support new product introduction and scale-up.
  • Partner with Operations/Quality leaders to safeguard process continuity; monitor quality parameters statistically and lead root-cause analysis for nonconformances.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on escalated personnel matters.
  • Control labor costs, including overtime planning and management.
  • Review reports and requests that impact cost-effectiveness and quality; approve or act decisively.
  • Define, track, and enforce quantitative production indicators.
  • Produce periodic performance reports and analyses as needed.
  • Recruit and select operations talent; maintain internal and external communication as needed around the clock to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Ensure the team’s competency in BRC Food Safety Policy, GMPs, HACCP principles, and BRC Food Safety Standards and applications.
  • Maintain conformance to ISO 14001 for the environmental management system and report its performance to top management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Associate/Technical degree in a related field with five years of management experience in high-volume manufacturing (ideally can/end manufacturing), including screening, performance reviews, coaching, training, and development; or significant related experience.
  • Proven leadership in tight-tolerance, high-throughput environments with complex problem-solving demands.
  • Clear, effective communication at every level of the organization.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees, peers, and leaders.
  • Systems mindset and continuous improvement orientation.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, ISO standards, HACCP, and/or GMP principles preferred.
  • Comfort with statistics and quality metrics.
  • Proficiency with Windows, MS Office, Visio, SAP, and related systems.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Understanding of relevant environmental regulations.

Work environment and physical demands

Your office is on the production floor. Noise levels are very loud outside the office; hearing protection and assigned PPE are required. Temperatures may range from extreme cold (<40 degrees) to extreme heat (>90 degrees), and the atmosphere can include fumes, dust, and odors. You will use a computer, cellphone, and other office equipment.

Regular activities include standing, walking, using hands to finger/handle/feel, talking, and hearing. You will frequently reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; and rely on close and distance vision as well as color recognition.

Compensation

Salary Range: $103,000 - $129,000 (good-faith estimate based on the expected scope of the role and internal equity considerations).
