Manufacturing Operations Director

We are looking for a Manufacturing Operations Director to join an industry-leading organization. This Director will oversee all day-to-day manufacturing operations for this location. This is a growing operation/division that is supported by an international company that cares about its people.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor all manufacturing activities appropriate to the ongoing operation of the facility including fabrication, manufacturing operations, assembly, and production planning.
  • Align production manufacturing capacity, material, shipping activities, and personnel planning to demand forecasts, including rollouts and other schedule demands.
  • Responsible for all environmental, health, and safety activities at the facility and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, internal company policies, and customer contractual performance agreements and audits.
  • Establish and monitor facility operating budget; analyze manufacturing costs and material usage reports; develop labor models; identify and implement improvements to positively affect profitability.
  • Responsible for the development of processes & procedures to increase overall efficiency while maintaining quality standards
  • Develop the plans and drive new initiatives focused on procedures and standards, high levels of product quality, and is a catalyst for the overall lean manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, employee interviewing, hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, complaints, scheduling, training, and development, etc.
  • Reliable attendance a must.
  • Allocate Quality resources to project teams, programs, and manufacturing process improvement, teams
  • Conduct annual performance reviews
  • Establish and implement improvements for cost reduction, quality assurance, and production.
  • Recommend purchase of all capital equipment and plant expansion.
  • Prepare/maintain various reports, records, and/or logs (such as budget, production, environmental, and safety)
  • Foster and maintain a high level of customer service through on-time deliveries, responsiveness to customer needs, and ensuring that the quality of the shipped product meets all customer quality requirements.
  • Create and manage key performance indicators (daily, weekly and monthly) necessary to meet overall departmental objectives.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs to include safety, quality, and production.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Manufacturing related focus
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within a Manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and management techniques including: Pull System, Single Piece Flow, Kaizen, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, Team Building.
  • Proven project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Track record of building a high-performing team to succeed in a demanding, fast-moving, and growth-oriented atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement and change management activities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building relationships and collaborating across multiple operations and corporate support functions.
