Manufacturing Methods Technician – Level I
The Manufacturing Methods Technician – Level I is a hands-on member of the Manufacturing Methods team responsible for supporting the setup, construction, and improvement of workstations, fixtures, tooling, and production processes. This roleworks closely with the Manufacturing Methods Manager to turn process improvement ideas into practical shop-floor solutions that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and ergonomics.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, maintain, and modify production workstations, jigs, fixtures, and tooling setups.
- Set up and safely operate hand tools, power tools, drill presses, and other production equipment.
- Assist with workstation layout, ergonomic improvements, and production floor organization.
- Observe current production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or opportunities for improvement.
- Document workflows and provide feedback or recommendations to the Manufacturing Methods Manager.
- Participate in process improvement trials, pilot runs, and implementation of approved changes.
- Collaborate with production operators, engineers, supervisors, and Methods team members to support manufacturing goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical trades, or a related production environment.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read basic drawings and safely use hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow written work instructions, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machining, CNC turning, milling, or fabrication.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement practices.
- Experience building or modifying production fixtures, tooling, or workstations.
- Vocational or technical training in manufacturing, machining, or industrial technology.
- Experience in furniture, marine, outdoor products, or custom manufacturing is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position operates primarily on the manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, tools, noise, and standard industrial conditions. PPE is required and provided. The role requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, using tools and equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed.
