Position: Manufacturing Maintenance Technician II
Location: Charlotte, NC - 28273
Duration: 12 Months
Job Type: Temporary Assignment
Work Type: Onsite
Shift: Night Shift - 05:00 PM to 05:00 AM
Summary:
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician II provides technical support in electrical, controls, and mechanical maintenance. Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving automated production equipment. Functions as a Journeyman-level maintenance technician with broad technical expertise.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure production equipment complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions related to: Electrical safety, Shielding and guarding, Safety interlocks, and Emergency stop systems
  • Complete safety review checklists for New equipment, and Significant process/equipment changes,
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hot work procedures, and Confined space requirements
  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and maintain necessary spare parts inventory.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
  • Adjust preventive maintenance programs as needed.
  • Train and mentor production associates on proper equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Assist with updates and accuracy of equipment-related SOPs.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements that:

  • Increase customer satisfaction
  • Ensure product availability and timely delivery
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as:
  • PPI (Practical Process Improvement)
  • Lean Manufacturing programs
Required Skills
  • High School Diploma required; advanced education in a scientific field preferred.
  • Technical certification is a plus.
  • 3 5 years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting automated equipment, electronics, sensors, motors, servos, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong mechanical skills, including equipment disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, lubrication, electrical, and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with automated production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of general construction, repair, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, CMMS, and inventory management software.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, cleanroom, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
