Responsibilities:
Job Summary: As a Maintenance Team Leader I, you'll support Plant teams in achieving superior self-manufactured products and develop and train Partners to meet our commitment to superior service levels. You'll ensure Plant preventive and predictive equipment / facility maintenance and develop and maintain a repair manual library.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
• Management:
Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters
Coaches / trains / develops non-exempt Partners, as directed by Technology Leader
Routinely offers performance feedback; administers performance management appraisals as required
Reviews daily labor schedule requirements; balances staffing levels and overtime as needed; eliminates barriers that prevent Partners from achieving Team goals
Executes tactical and strategic plans and initiatives that impacts maintenance team Partners; gains support for / commitment to those plans
Implements / enhances plans as needed to achieve Team goals; coordinates efforts of Partners to meet Team goals; reviews results daily with Team
Identifies / eliminates Muda (e.g., overproduction waste, excess transportation, excess inventory, excess motion, waiting, over processing, defects, underutilized people)
Identifies / remains actively involved in critical situations; gains input and provides updates to appropriate Leader as needed
Administers Partner certification in preventive and predictive maintenance
Provides input to Technology Leaders on staffing levels; gains commitment from the Team; initiates job requisitions; sources / interviews candidates
Identifies / develops Maintenance Team Coordinators
Becomes personally involved in every Partner injury
Assists / supports Technology Leader in developing and implementing a comprehensive skills and training program for Maintenance Partners
• Compliance / Maintenance:
At a team level, monitors established practices to ensure Team Partner compliance with internal / external policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance
Ensures Partner compliance with Plant Safety Program, work instructions, standards, and product specifications
Ensures facility and equipment comply with all local, state, and federal regulations
Ensures all preventive maintenance is done timely and accurately and meets highest maintenance standards
Executes preventive maintenance schedule to ensure proper maintenance of equipment to meet customer demand efficiently and effectively
Ensures production and ancillary equipment are maintained in like-new condition
Ensures correct parts ordering and inventory to conduct scheduled maintenance
Generates reports to effectively communicate maintenance status and scheduled activities
Executes / audits the Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Program to improve and move toward a total Plant maintenance concept

Qualifications & Key Requirements:
Work Experience:
1+ years of related experience (preferred) - Preferred
Experience in high-performance work team concepts - Required
Successful completion of MWT ATL Program and SORM - Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of maintenance work / skills - Required
Working knowledge of compliance requirements in the industry, EEOC, and employment laws - Required
Working knowledge of HACCP, USDA, OSHA, FDA, and state weight and measure requirements - Required
Knowledge of operating statements, inventory reports, regulatory reports, CIP computer systems, PLC system, TINA, general computer operations, and financial reports related to one functional area - Required
Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills - Required
Strong leadership skills - Required
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills - Required
Strong skills operating internal / external software systems - Required

Education:
A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience - Required

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
Work flexible and/or rotating schedules, including overnights, weekends, and holidays
Occasionally lift 20 lbs or more
Stand, stoop, walk, bend, and climb, with or without accommodations
Work on production floors that are wet and slippery due to product, water, and chemical residues
Work in facilities with inside temperatures ranging from -35 to 130 degrees
Work around gaseous materials, including cleaning and sanitation agents and ammonia for refrigerant systems
Work in facilities with noise level ranges from normal to 100 db
