A bit about us:

Highly respected manufacturer specializing in engineered stainless steel solutions for demanding industrial applications. Our operation relies on strong coordination between production, engineering, supply chain, purchasing, inventory, and manufacturing teams to deliver complex stainless tank products efficiently, accurately, and on time. As we continue to strengthen our manufacturing systems, production planning, MES connectivity, and ERP processes, we are looking for an ERP System Administrator who can help improve visibility, scheduling discipline, material flow, and shop-floor execution across the business.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the systems backbone of a manufacturing operation. The ERP System Administrator will help connect planning, production scheduling, material availability, inventory control, shop orders, MES data, and reporting into a more efficient and reliable operating model. This role is ideal for someone who understands manufacturing, enjoys working closely with shop-floor teams, and wants to use ERP tools to solve real operational challenges around capacity, materials, scheduling, inventory, and production performance.

Job Details

The ERP System Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the ERP environment within a stainless tank manufacturing operation. This role works closely with Operations, Production Control, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, IT, and end users to ensure the ERP system supports accurate planning, production scheduling, material availability, inventory management, reporting, and shop-floor execution.

This individual will provide functional ERP expertise, support users, troubleshoot issues, develop dashboards and reports, assist with system changes and upgrades, and help integrate automated equipment and real-time manufacturing data through MES. The role is highly cross-functional and requires someone who can understand both the system and the manufacturing process behind it.

Key Responsibilities
ERP Administration & Functional Support

Serve as a key ERP resource for the manufacturing operation, providing functional support, system guidance, and day-to-day troubleshooting for end users.

Learn and understand the existing ERP environment, business processes, and manufacturing practices to provide practical support and recommendations.

Provide end-user training and assist employees with ERP questions, issues, workflows, and process improvements.

Collaborate with end users, Production Control, IT, and management on ERP system upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, and ongoing system improvements.

Create and delete user accounts, update account permissions, maintain user profiles, manage page layouts, and support system security information.

Provide guidance for system changes and enhancements that improve usability, accuracy, and operational performance.

Production Scheduling & Manufacturing Planning

Develop production schedules for finished goods, component items, machined parts, and build-to-stock subassemblies based on equipment, labor, raw material availability, and customer requirements.

Provide daily production schedules to manufacturing teams and ensure shop-floor execution is aligned with the factory plan.

Coordinate production scheduling of lower-level items, components, and machined parts to support final assembly and customer ship dates.

Work with Production Control to ensure the daily operation schedule is met and materials are available when needed.

Communicate capacity availability and ensure work orders are loaded appropriately based on labor, equipment, material, and schedule constraints.

Resolve conflicts related to capacity, manpower, equipment, materials, and timing to support target ship dates.

Materials, Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

Drive component material demand for Purchasing and monitor availability, lead times, current production schedules, and capacity requirements.

Balance production and inventory levels with customer demand, inventory turn goals, service levels, and staffing requirements.

Establish and follow protocols for inventory controls, ordering processes, cycle counts, and visual inventory management.

Compile inventory reports and provide accurate data to support planning, purchasing, production, and management decisions.

Implement and manage the internal kitting process to improve material flow, production readiness, and shop-floor efficiency.

Identify and resolve material, manpower, and capacity availability issues before they impact production schedules or customer delivery dates.

MES, Automation & Shop-Floor Data Integration

Support integration between automated equipment, MES, and ERP systems to improve real-time manufacturing data visibility.

Help connect shop-floor activity, equipment data, production schedules, and ERP information to support better planning and operational decision-making.

Partner with IT, Operations, Production Control, and equipment stakeholders to ensure manufacturing data is accurate, timely, and useful.

Support ongoing improvement of MES and manufacturing automation integration as the operation continues to mature digitally.

Capacity Planning & Shop-Floor Visibility

Develop and maintain capacity planning tools to support effective shop performance and production decision-making.

Advise management on work-in-progress status, material availability, capacity constraints, manpower needs, and potential production issues.

Visualize key production processes to improve the flow of materials and create better visibility into production status.

Work with supervisors, Engineering, and Purchasing on shop orders to assess progress, identify needed changes, and support execution.

Help ensure manpower, equipment, materials, and work orders are ready to meet production requirements.

Reporting, Dashboards & KPIs

Develop and implement planning KPIs to measure production planning, schedule adherence, material availability, inventory performance, capacity utilization, and operational execution.

Create and maintain ERP business documents, dashboards, KPI dashboards, and reports for operations and leadership.

Analyze ERP and production data to identify issues, trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

Support reporting automation and improved visibility across Operations, Supply Chain, Production Control, and management teams.

Data Migration, Documentation & System Improvement

Assist in data migration efforts during ERP implementation, system upgrades, and ongoing post-go-live activities.

Create and maintain ERP business documents, process documentation, training materials, and system resources.

Identify repeatable system or process errors and propose tangible solutions to prevent recurrence.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities within assigned systems, workflows, and manufacturing processes.

Support special projects and provide project support as requested by the Executive Team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Focus

Interact frequently with Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Production Control, Engineering, IT, and management to support business objectives.

Ensure customer-required dates are met by supporting operational readiness, material availability, production scheduling, and shop-floor execution.

Build effective relationships with internal and external customers by anticipating needs, responding quickly, and following through on issues.

Use diplomacy, communication, and collaboration to maintain strong working relationships while adapting to changing priorities and demands.

Share information and resources to promote positive, collaborative work across departments.

Continuous Improvement & Safety

Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of workflows, systems, production planning, material flow, inventory control, and ERP processes.

Problem-solve and communicate effectively with work teams to support practical, sustainable improvements.

Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and PPE requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing, production planning, inventory, supply chain, or operations environment.

Experience with MES and manufacturing automation integration.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred.

Working knowledge of production planning strategies, manufacturing models, material requirements, inventory controls, and how planning impacts supply chain and operations.

Ability to work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Production Control, Program Management, Purchasing, Engineering, and IT to ensure the factory is properly planned and supported.

Experience creating reports, dashboards, ERP business documents, KPI dashboards, and operational reporting tools.

Experience supporting ERP users, resolving system issues, providing training, and assisting with system upgrades or enhancements.

Strong organizational, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage changing priorities, work collaboratively across departments, and support both system and manufacturing process improvements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a manufacturing-focused ERP professional who understands that ERP is not just a back-office system. In this environment, ERP directly impacts production schedules, material availability, inventory accuracy, shop orders, capacity planning, kitting, and customer delivery dates.

This person should be comfortable working closely with production teams, supervisors, purchasing, engineering, supply chain, and IT to troubleshoot issues, improve workflows, and make the system more useful for the people running the operation. They should understand how planning decisions affect the shop floor and be able to translate ERP data into practical actions that improve material flow, schedule execution, and manufacturing performance.

The right candidate will bring a strong customer-service mindset, clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to identify repeatable problems and propose solutions that improve the ERP environment and the broader manufacturing process.

Physical Requirements & Safety

This role requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Employees may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle materials, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision.

Employees are required to wear all assigned PPE in designated work areas.
