Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician

Are you the go-to problem solver who keeps production humming? Do you thrive on diagnosing issues, preventing failures, and making processes better every day? If that sounds like you, read on.

What you’ll tackle

  • Preventive maintenance on production assets—then swift troubleshooting and repair when things go off-spec.
  • Operate processing equipment when needed to cut downtime and stabilize throughput.
  • Confidently use blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to do the job right the first time.
  • Support water/ice operations: ice makers, compressors, heat exchangers, ammonia and Freon refrigeration, pumps, and condensers.
  • Confirm product quality by visually inspecting ice clarity, cube size, and hole spacing.
  • Order parts and manage spares so the plant has what it needs, when it needs it.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement countermeasures backed by basic data analysis.
  • Handle minor facility upkeep—paint touchups, lightbulb changes, small structural repairs.
  • Coach teammates on tool and equipment use for general facility maintenance.
  • Assist with bagging as required and, at times, help direct workflow based on equipment output.
  • Complete Safety/Risk Management checklists and proactively correct health and safety issues.
  • Model our Code of Business Ethics and the belief that safety is personal.

How you’ll improve the operation

Bring a continuous improvement mindset grounded in lean. You will:

  • Live our “True North” values: voice of the customer; respect for the individual; crisp, fact-based communication; servant leadership; and continuous improvement.
  • Use VSM, Kaizen, and A3 to identify waste, streamline flow, and create value for customers, employees, and shareholders.
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen events and value stream mapping activities.

Do you have these capabilities?

  • Read/interpret English safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Stay unfatigued to perform critical tasks with accuracy.
  • Gauge time and distance well; quickly store and recall instructions.
  • Maintain strong concentration and judgment on cognitively demanding work.
  • Cope with sudden environmental changes, emergencies, and alarms; respond rapidly with unimpaired coordination and reflexes.
  • Perform all duties safely and competently without impairment that would compromise essential functions.
  • Show a caring, committed attitude toward safety and respond promptly to operating conditions.
