Manufacturing Equipment Engineer

We're seeking a highly hands-on Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to support and improve industrial manufacturing equipment, automation, tooling, and production systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being on the production floor, troubleshooting machinery, improving equipment reliability, designing mechanical solutions, and working directly with fabrication, controls, automation, and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate may have started their career as a machinist, maintenance technician, toolmaker, fabricator, or machine builder before moving into engineering. Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality are critical for success in this role.

What You'll Do
Troubleshoot and improve industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, and automated systems
Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions
Design and modify machine components, tooling, fixtures, and assemblies using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Support fabrication, welding, machine modifications, retrofits, and equipment upgrades
Work directly on the production floor with operators, maintenance, and leadership teams
Assist with PLC troubleshooting, controls, wiring, sensors, motors, pneumatics, and automation systems
Lead and support equipment improvement and process optimization projects
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
Support new equipment builds, installations, testing, and validation
Drive continuous equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency improvements

What We're Looking For
5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, machine building, maintenance engineering, tooling, fabrication, or industrial machinery experience
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Experience working with industrial equipment, automation, machinery, tooling, or custom equipment
CAD experience required; SolidWorks strongly preferred
Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams
Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, welding, or machine repair highly preferred
Experience with PLC troubleshooting or programming is a strong plus
Comfortable working on the production floor and disassembling equipment to diagnose issues
Strong problem-solving mentality with the ability to prioritize and execute independently
