Production Equipment Specialist

Sources and specs out new production equipment.

Evaluate needs to complete cost justification and return on investment.

Develop equipment specifications and approves mechanical drawings.

Develops and conducts Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) when equipment is completed, before being shipped.

Manages and is involved in equipment installation, start up, and testing.

Troubleshoots and addresses equipment failures/issues.

Develops equipment preventative maintenance (PM) practices.

Leads/participates in HAZOPS and safe work practices.

Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.

Investigates problematic production processes and/or products using Lean Thinking, Six Sigma, SPC, and DOE techniques.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

A BS degree in engineering and 3+ years of experience.

Requires knowledge of and ability to execute chemical analytical techniques.

Requires knowledge of Lean Thinking, Six Sigma, SPC, and DOE methodology.

Should have hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in an environment utilizing automation or robotics a plus.

Should possess good innovative abilities for problem-solving including Continuous Improvement methodologies.
