Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Weirton, WV (100% Onsite)
Duration: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Typically standard M-F/40 hour weeks
Salary Range: $60-65/hr
Role Summary
Support the launch and ramp-up of an automated battery cell assembly line by troubleshooting manufacturing issues, improving equipment performance, reducing downtime, and ensuring a smooth transition to high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for automated assembly line production.
- Troubleshoot robotic systems, servo motion, welding, leak testing, and inspection equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support production readiness, commissioning closeout, and process validation.
- Work closely with technicians, operations, and process/equipment engineers.
- Analyze production data to improve quality, throughput, and OEE.
- Create work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
- Read engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documents.
Must-Haves
- Bachelor's in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years in manufacturing engineering (automation/assembly); strong internships with launch experience considered.
- Experience with production launches, commissioning, or manufacturing ramp-up.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of automated equipment.
- Experience with robotics, servo systems, and automated assembly.
- Knowledge of welding, joining, fastening, leak testing, or automated inspection.
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, CAD, and interpreting engineering drawings.
Nice-to-Haves
- Body-in-white manufacturing experience.
- Resistance, laser, or IR welding.
- SPC, Cp/Cpk, Minitab, or Python.
- PLCs, control schematics, servo systems, or automation logic.
- Experience improving OEE, first-pass yield, and production readiness.
