PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Oldsmar, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Manufacturing Engineer will develop and improve manufacturing processes, production layouts, procedures, equipment arrangements, and production plans for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. This role requires manufacturing engineering experience, process improvement ability, production floor support, and the ability to work second shift.
Required Skills
- Manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience designing or improving manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
- Experience supporting assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, or material handling.
- Ability to design efficient machine and equipment layouts for production environments.
- Ability to define sequence of operations and manufacturing procedures.
- Ability to adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- Ability to incorporate inspection and test requirements into production planning.
- Ability to evaluate machinery, equipment, and tool performance.
- Ability to investigate production problems and initiate corrective actions.
- Understanding of product quality requirements and manufacturing compliance.
- Ability to support statistical process control or related process control techniques.
- Ability to work with engineering teams on design concepts and specification requirements.
- Ability to work second shift.
Preferred Skills
- Aerospace, defense, electronics, or high-reliability manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting production floor issue resolution, manufacturing process development, equipment efficiency, tooling, inspection planning, or continuous improvement.
- Experience with process documentation, production layouts, work instructions, corrective action, or regulated manufacturing environments.
What You’ll Do
- Design and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
- Support production planning for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
- Design arrangements of machines and equipment to improve production flow.
- Define manufacturing sequences, procedures, and tooling or equipment requirements.
- Adapt equipment designs and process plans to factory and production conditions.
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans.
- Inspect machinery, equipment, and tools to verify performance and efficiency.
- Investigate manufacturing problems and initiate corrective actions.
- Develop processes that support statistical process control and product quality.
- Provide engineering input on design concepts and specification requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing processes and procedures comply with applicable regulations.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 2nd shift.
- Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM.
