PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Ocala, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing operations by developing processes, procedures, production layouts, and corrective actions to improve product quality and production efficiency. This role requires hands-on manufacturing engineering support experience, SAP experience, quality defect dispositioning, and Preliminary Material Review experience.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience providing engineering support in a manufacturing facility.
- 3+ years of SAP experience.
- 3+ years of quality defect dispositioning experience.
- 3+ years of Preliminary Material Review experience.
- Ability to design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
- Ability to support assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
- Ability to define sequence of operations and fabrication procedures.
- Ability to support inspection and test requirements within production planning.
- Ability to evaluate machinery, equipment, and tool performance.
- Ability to investigate manufacturing issues and initiate corrective action.
- Ability to support product quality, process compliance, and production efficiency.
- Ability to provide manufacturing guidance to engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with statistical process control.
- Experience supporting equipment layout, production planning, process improvement, corrective action, tooling, inspection planning, test planning, and manufacturing compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
- Design efficient equipment and machine arrangements within plant facilities.
- Define operation sequences and procedures for tools, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Adapt machine or equipment designs to factory and production conditions.
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans.
- Inspect equipment, machinery, and tools to verify efficiency.
- Investigate production problems and support corrective action.
- Support statistical process control and process improvement activities.
- Provide guidance to engineering on design concepts, specifications, equipment use, and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure processes and procedures comply with applicable regulations.
Work Schedule / Shift
- Work schedule may require weekend shift and/or split shift support.
- Potential split shift: 10:00 AM–8:30 PM.
