SLB is seeking a proactive and technically strong Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to join our Mobile, AL engineering team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a problem-solving environment, can translate engineering challenges into actionable solutions, and effectively influences stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on manufacturing performance, equipment reliability, and long-term capital planning while developing leadership capabilities and business acumen.


You will play a key role in both internal and external engineering projects, including collaboration with third-party EPC firms, and support bid and proposal activities. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple organizational levels.


Roles and Responsibilities


+ Lead efforts to identify manufacturing equipment issues and develop upgrade or replacement strategies

+ Specify equipment purchases or lead design projects with internal teams or external EPC contractors

+ Design and evaluate complex engineering solutions, ensuring safety, performance, and cost optimization

+ Perform engineering stress calculations and prepare technical reports to support project proposals

+ Address manufacturability challenges and recommend alternative engineering designs

+ Develop and execute test procedures to assess equipment capabilities and define future requirements

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, management, and external clients

+ Train and mentor team members on engineering practices, codes, and technical standards

+ Provide quality oversight by reviewing, editing, and refining technical reports and deliverables

+ Actively support bid and proposal processes with technical expertise and input


Qualifications and Experience


+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field required)

+ 5–7 years of relevant technical experience in manufacturing or engineering environments

+ Strong knowledge of engineering design, equipment specification, and stress calculations

+ Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment evaluation

+ Ability to train and mentor others in engineering methodologies and standards

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

+ Ability to influence and communicate complex technical concepts clearly

+ Experience interacting with operators, management, and external stakeholders

+ Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship
