SLB is seeking a proactive and technically strong Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to join our Mobile, AL engineering team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a problem-solving environment, can translate engineering challenges into actionable solutions, and effectively influences stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on manufacturing performance, equipment reliability, and long-term capital planning while developing leadership capabilities and business acumen.

You will play a key role in both internal and external engineering projects, including collaboration with third-party EPC firms, and support bid and proposal activities. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple organizational levels.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to identify manufacturing equipment issues and develop upgrade or replacement strategies
  • Specify equipment purchases or lead design projects with internal teams or external EPC contractors
  • Design and evaluate complex engineering solutions, ensuring safety, performance, and cost optimization
  • Perform engineering stress calculations and prepare technical reports to support project proposals
  • Address manufacturability challenges and recommend alternative engineering designs
  • Develop and execute test procedures to assess equipment capabilities and define future requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, management, and external clients
  • Train and mentor team members on engineering practices, codes, and technical standards
  • Provide quality oversight by reviewing, editing, and refining technical reports and deliverables
  • Actively support bid and proposal processes with technical expertise and input

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field required)
  • 5-7 years of relevant technical experience in manufacturing or engineering environments
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design, equipment specification, and stress calculations
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment evaluation
  • Ability to train and mentor others in engineering methodologies and standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to influence and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Experience interacting with operators, management, and external stakeholders
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship
