This Manufacturing Engineer role is ideal for a candidate with strong CNC machining experience and proficiency in G-code programming. In addition, the position involves leading fixture design initiatives, driving lean manufacturing projects, and troubleshooting issues both on the production floor and off-site.
Client Details
Our client is based in the southern suburbs of Chicago and is a leading manufacturer of various mission-critical safety equipment. They have been seeing tremendous growth and are looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to their team to lead the CNC Shop operations and ensure that all machinery and processes are working efficiently.
Description
- Develop and optimize CNC machining processes for new products and existing lines
- Create and modify programs using CAD/CAM software, G-Code
- Write and maintain CMM programs to support inspections
- Develop and implement fixtures and tooling processes
- Work with production and Assembly to ensure efficient work cells
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on the floor
- Develop Lean and CI programs
Profile
- B.S in Engineering - discipline flexible but mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing with an emphasis on CNC Machining
- CAD/CAM proficiency required
- G-Code Programming ability required
- Experience with manual assembly of machined components
- General experience with machining processes, principles, and process documentation
- Lean/CI project experience
- Knowledge of various ERP systems
- FANUC programming strongly preferred
- Exposure to multi-axis machining is a plus
- Rubber molding knowledge is a plus
