Description

The Manufacturing Automation Engineer will play a key role in supporting production operations through the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of automation, controls, and electrical systems. Working closely with operations, maintenance, contractors, and leadership teams, the successful candidate will lead projects that improve safety, reliability, process efficiency, and equipment performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Lead automation, electrical, and process improvement projects from installation through commissioning.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems to maximise plant uptime.
  • Support safety and compliance initiatives, including PSM, MOC, PSSR, HAZOPs, and electrical standards.

Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong automation and electrical engineering experience within a chemical, process, or industrial manufacturing environment. They will be comfortable working directly on the production floor, solving complex technical issues, managing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of automation and controls experience within industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience with PLCs, industrial electrical systems, troubleshooting, and process safety requirements.
