Overview Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.Responsibilities Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for activities such as layup, cure, machining, bonding, painting, and assembly of composite materials and structures.Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.Plans for the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the composites materials and processing field.General knowledge of other related disciplines.Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems; solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives.Works under general direction and independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects.Performs Root Cause and Corrective Action / Nonconformance Disposition (MRB).Shift: Day.Qualifications BS in designated Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.Preferred Additional Skills DMAIC, DFSS, LEAN, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Mistake Proofing, DOE, DFx.Work in a production and assembly environment.Experience with Automated Fiber Placement.Ultrasonic Inspection.Composite tooling and tool design.Machine shop environment (Composite Machining).New Product Development / New Business Development.Shop Planning Generation (MS Word Products, etc).Working in / Leading a multi-disciplined team.GD&T.CATIA V5.Green Belt Certified a plus.Experience in Windchill, and SAP a plus.Aerospace manufacturing a plus.As a Department of Defense Contractor we are required to hire US Persons.Visa sponsorship is not being offered.Benefits Top notch benefits program including generous 401(k) match, paid time off, personal days, flexible schedule and strong commitment to work/life balance.Compliance We follow OFCCP guidelines for accepting applications.
