Title: Manufacturing Engineer III
 Location: Buffalo Grove

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer III to support advanced manufacturing operations through the development, programming, commissioning, and optimization of machining, robotics, and automated manufacturing systems. This role focuses on improving manufacturing efficiency, reliability, quality, and productivity through automation and continuous process improvement
 
Job Duties:
 
  • Program, debug, and commission industrial robotic systems with an emphasis on CNC machine tending.
  • Define manufacturing processes using CNC and/or manual machining methods.
  • Design, build, modify, and maintain fixtures that support safe, repeatable, and cost-effective production.
  • Develop detailed functional and technical specifications for automation systems.
  • Lead automation projects from concept through production with minimal supervision.
  • Optimize automation cycle times, system reliability, equipment uptime, and error recovery.
  • Integrate manufacturing equipment with digital data collection and monitoring systems.
  • Support operator and maintenance training related to automated manufacturing systems.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and automation issues during new product launches and ongoing production.
  • Research, justify, and recommend capital equipment investments that improve manufacturing costs, safety, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Apply statistical methods to evaluate manufacturing performance, forecast future requirements, and implement process improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Industry 4.0 technologies, including:
    1. Advanced programming techniques
    2. Machining technologies
    3. Machine and assembly automation
    4. Tooling design
    5. Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
    6. Digital work instructions
    7. Torque monitoring
    8. Quality tracking systems
Qualifications:
 
  1. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5–8 years of hands-on experience programming industrial robots and automation systems.
  3. Experience with Creo and/or SolidWorks, including CAM processors.
  4. Experience with machining tool selection and process optimization.
  5. Strong experience with robot programming, PLC programming, and HMI development.
  6. Ability to independently lead automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
  7. Occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.
  8. Stand, walk, and navigate throughout manufacturing facilities.
  9. Up to 10% of travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations as needed.
