The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving CNC machining operations, manufacturing automation systems, tooling, fixturing, and production processes. This role drives improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and equipment utilization while supporting new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a First (1st) shift position at our Falcon Lakeside Facility in Stevensville.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for CNC machining operations.
  • Develop, document, and maintain machining process parameters, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot machining variability, dimensional issues, and production bottlenecks.
  • Analyze cycle times, tooling performance, machine utilization, and equipment capability to improve throughput.
  • Support capacity planning, line balancing, and workflow optimization.
  • Support and improve manufacturing automation systems including robotic cells, CNC automation, and material handling systems.
  • Assist with specification, installation, validation, and startup of automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot automation-related production issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives involving automation and smart manufacturing technologies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, tooling, quality, and production personnel to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Investigate quality concerns and perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce scrap and rework.

Other Responsibilities

  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Support FMEA, SPC, and control plan development.
  • Support new product introductions and production launches.
  • Review part designs for manufacturability related to CNC machining processes.
  • Assist with tooling, fixture, and gauge design.
  • Participate in process validation and first article inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Support ergonomic, safety, and risk-reduction initiatives.
  • Successfully communicate and collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, quality, customers, and suppliers.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor''s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in CNC machining manufacturing; five (5) years preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, cutting parameters, and fixturing.
  • Experience with manufacturing automation in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with robotic systems and CNC automation.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, sensors, and industrial controls for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Experience supporting automation projects from concept through implementation preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Hands-on, production-focused mindset.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Work Environment

  • Collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing and foundry environments with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
  • Travel to customer or supplier sites as needed.
  • May require on-floor support during production trials, launches, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
