Position Overview
Kratos Industries is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead BOM validation, kit readiness, and production process definition within our advanced electrical equipment manufacturing operations.
This role will focus on ensuring engineering outputis accurate, complete, and executable in production, with primary responsibility for, but not limited to:
• BOM validation and alignment (Engineering to ERP(JobBoss) to physical build)
• Kit readiness and verification processes
• Production process definition and build sequence
• Work instruction development
• Engineering-to-production integration
• Material and pick list accuracy tied to production sequence
• In-process issue resolution tied to design or BOM gaps
We are specifically seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who has worked directly in production environments, not solely supporting design, but ensuring product is buildable, repeatable, and aligned to real assembly conditions.
Key Responsibilities
BOM Validation & Material Alignment
• Validate BOMs at job release to ensure alignment between engineering models, JobBoss, and physical build requirements
• Identify and resolve alternates, gaps, and inconsistencies prior to kit release
• Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure pick lists reflect true production needs
• Reduce material-related disruptions during assembly builds
• Kit Readiness & production Start Stability
• Support development and enforcement of formal kit verification processes
• Ensure kits are complete, accurate, and build-ready prior to release
• Drive improvements in clean start performance across all production lines
Production Process Definition
• Define how products are built at the line level, including build sequence and key constraints
• Ensure processes reflect actual production conditions and flow
• Partner with leadership to align process with layout and material presentation
• Work Instructions & Process Documentation
• Develop clear, operator-focused work instructions tied to validated BOMs and actual build flow
• Prioritize critical-to-quality steps and known failure points
• Support transition from tacit knowledge to structured, repeatable processes
Production Support & Issue Resolution
• Act as first-line engineering support for assembly-related issues
• Participate in Tier 2 escalation and drive closure of BOM, material, and process-related problems
• Work directly with technicians and leaders to resolve build issues in real time
Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Alignment
• Identify gaps between engineering output and production execution
• Improve BOM structure, material flow clarity, and process definition
• Partner with Industrial Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to improve first-pass yield and reduce rework
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly-focused engineering roles
