Description

  • Support the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of new automation and process equipment.
  • Drive improvements in manufacturing efficiency, quality, reliability, and operational safety through automation solutions.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, controls, PLC, and HMI-related issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams, vendors, and contractors to resolve equipment and process challenges.
  • Provide technical support during equipment startups, shutdowns, process upsets, and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Implement safety initiatives and proactively identify opportunities to reduce operational risk.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and Mechanical Integrity activities.
  • Participate in process hazard reviews and help deploy controls and safeguards for manufacturing operations.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical standards, hazardous location requirements, and internal safety procedures.
  • Develop and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, loop diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Support capital project planning and execution for automation and reliability improvements.
  • Manage small to mid-sized electrical and automation projects from concept through completion.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the facility.

Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial, process, chemical, or manufacturing automation.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, control systems, industrial electrical equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Experience implementing and integrating automation equipment into existing production operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and controls issues in a live manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards and regulated production settings.
  • Experience with HMI and SCADA platforms such as Ignition or FactoryTalk is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, hazardous area classifications, and industrial safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on, proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships across engineering, maintenance, and operations functions.
