Manual Machinist / Toolroom Machinist

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

Are you a skilled Manual Machinist who takes pride in producing precision parts? We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist / Toolroom Machinist to join a stable and growing manufacturing company that designs and builds custom industrial equipment.

If you enjoy working independently, solving problems, and machining high-quality components with tight tolerances, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Produce close-tolerance machine components using:
    • Manual Vertical Mill (ProtoTRAK experience preferred)
    • Engine Lathe
    • Band Saw
    • Surface Grinder
  • Machine blocks, plates, shafts, fixtures, and custom components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Fabricate precision parts for custom manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform setup, machining, inspection, and finishing of components.
  • Maintain quality standards while meeting production schedules.
  • Order materials and tooling as needed with management approval.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Occasionally produce production samples as required.
  • When necessary, run local errands to pick up materials or tooling needed to support production.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of manual machining experience.
  • Ability to hold tight tolerances and consistently produce quality parts.
  • Experience operating manual mills, lathes, grinders, and saws.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Conversational CNC programming is a plus but not required.
  • Must provide your own basic machinist tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Trade school training in machining is preferred but equivalent work experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for 50%–95% of the workday.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work safely around manufacturing equipment.
