Our client is looking for a Manual Machinist to join their team. Our client is a world leader in process measurement and control products for a variety of industries.

The Manual Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. This role would also be responsible for reading blueprints and schematics to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels are met.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Selects the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
- Consults with engineering and other appropriate personnel regarding product information such as design, capacity and purpose, and types of material to be used to fabricate part or product.
- Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
- Designs fixtures, tooling, or experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
- Cleans and lubricates machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Monitors the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Evaluates machining procedures and recommends changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability.
- Machines parts to exact specifications and tolerances using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
- Maintains machine tools in proper operational condition and supplies own measuring tools.
- Measures, examines, or tests completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, height gages, calipers, and thread gages.
- Performs experimental machining requiring special tooling and materials.
- Assures that interrelating dimensions are correct.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 5+ years of machine shop/manufacturing experience.
- Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
- Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others" actions.
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

- Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
- Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
