Managing Director - United States Practice
Managing Directors oversee significant client portfolios and serve as leading experts and practitioners within the firm. They are accountable for the delivery of integrated and high-quality work and play a critical role in driving revenue growthand shaping team, Business Unit, and firm strategy. As senior leaders, they are integral in developing intellectual capital, stewarding firm culture and contributing materially to the long-term success of the business.
The Managing Director for the United States Practice at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group will deliver distinctive client service, lead complex client engagements, and drive business development across a range of ASG teams and projects. Serving as a trusted advisor, the MD builds and strengthens client relationships, collaborates across practices, and advances key client and firm initiatives. The MD provides direction and guidance to colleagues at all levels, fostering a productive and positive work environment creating value for clients and supporting the firm's continued growth.
Location: Washington, D.C. (hybrid with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
Responsibilities:
- Manage a significant client and revenue portfolio, serving as a trusted advisor to executive-level stakeholders, driving strategic decision-making and key operational initiatives, and maintaining accountability for portfolio growth, performance, profitability, and results.
- Oversee teams and client engagements, ensuring excellence, integration, prioritization, and strategic alignment for clients and the firm
- Drive business development by expanding engagements, identifying new revenue streams, negotiating profitable terms, and cultivating new client relationships.
- Broaden ASG networks and raise the firm's profile through participation with associations, think tanks, and other conferences and fora.
- Contribute to the management and growth of the ASG United States Policy and Strategy Practice; support annual budget and workforce planning and monitor progress against
- Lead firmwide initiatives, operational priorities, cross practice and Business Unit
- Guide and mentor talent; set clear strategies and expectations for deliverables to team members while helping to shape team workforce planning, succession and professional
- Build and refine high impact methodologies, service offerings, and intellectual capital for clients and the
- Utilize and expand networks to cultivate potential new clients and build new
- Represent the firm externally as a visible and credible senior leader and expert in the

Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience in the public policy space in the U.S., including in the executive and/or legislative branches of U.S. or state government, politics, and/or academia.
- Bachelor's degree in political science, international relations, business, public policy, or another related field or equivalent experience required. Graduate degree in political science, law, international relations, business, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Recognized substantive knowledge in multiple sectors, which may include U.S. Federal or State-level government or intergovernmental relations, U.S. policy and regulatory affairs, economic development, U.S. politics, international relations, international law or business, or related field.
- Proven manager with experience leading teams and projects in complex environments.
- Existing network of public and private sector contacts across the U.S., and with current or prospective client relationships strongly preferred.
- Highly effective communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management capabilities, combined with a strategic, proactive approach to networking and long-term relationship building.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset, with strong strategic problem-solving capabilities
- Recognized for influence and thought leadership, with a demonstrated ability to shape strategy
