Repair the World provides volunteers with an increased connection to meaningful Jewish service and learning, deepening their connection to Jewish community and peoplehood, building bridges with local nonprofit partners by meeting pressing needs that help meet their missions, and building bridges across lines of difference.
Repair the World Los Angeles launched in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, as a home for Jewish service learning opportunities in the community, offering ongoing volunteer opportunities through strategic partnerships with Jewish community partners to engage their constituents in Jewish service. Through pairing service with Jewish learning, Repair provides an entry-point to Jewish life for Jewish young adults who may not be traditionally engaged with the broader Jewish community.
Position Overview
Repair is seeking a strategic Managing Director to lead and scale our work in Los Angeles. This leader will be responsible for the strategic direction, programmatic excellence, resource development, and sustainable growth of Repair's presence throughout Los Angeles. The Managing Director will champion Repair's mission locally and will expand our reach by cultivating strong relationships amongst various stakeholder groups while engaging diverse Jewish audiences in impactful service.
The Managing Director will be passionate about the intersection of Jewish values, young adult engagement, and service. They will be a seasoned leader with a proven track record in team management, program development, and fundraising. They will possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to inspire and manage a team, and a passion for the intersection of Jewish values and social change. This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of the Los Angeles landscape, building impactful partnerships, and drive significant social impact.
This is a full-time exempt position based in Los Angeles. The Managing Director will report to the Senior Director of Community Impact and work closely with local stakeholders. This role requires a flexible schedule, as evening and weekend programming and engagement opportunities will shift regularly. The Managing Director must be available to attend programs and meetings in person with staff, partners, and stakeholders throughout the area.
