Job Description:
The Volunteer Manager II is responsible for local implementation and management of volunteer services programs and initiatives, oversight of gift shop operations for an assigned location and/or additional Intermountain departments or functions including, but not limited to valet, guest house, shuttle, transport, and guest services and hospitality. This position is typically assigned to medium sized facilities with 50 - 249 beds and volunteer programs of 50+ volunteers.

Essential Functions
- Selects, trains, and manages qualified volunteers and paid employees to support hospital and community needs and objectives. Oversees coaching and corrective action as needed.
- Proactively identifies and manages current and future volunteer, paid staffing, and scheduling needs. Allocates timely and available resources to meet Intermountain needs and promote safe, quality, effective, efficient, and compassionate service and care.
- Promotes engagement and supports development of both volunteers and paid employees, ensuring the volunteer and paid employee experience is meaningful to both the volunteer and employee and the organization.
- In partnership with the system Gift In-Kind Coordinator, responsible for the overall process of receiving, storing, and distributing community donations for the facility.
- Collaborates with the Volunteer Director and Administration on long-term objectives, goals, and success measures of Volunteer Services. Looks for opportunities for continuous improvement within programs and services to improve and support the provision of extraordinary care and key metrics.
- Manages the tracking of volunteer hours and program reports.
- Accountable for financial management associated with operation, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual capital, operation, volunteer, and personnel (FTE) budgets. Identifies and acts upon areas where efficiencies can be realized.
- Communicates effectively and frequently to maintain collaborative working relationships among Volunteer Services and other Intermountain departments, system leadership, and the community. Models and fosters an environment of professionalism.
- Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements from Intermountain and other applicable regulating bodies to maintain safety and high-quality service.
- Gift Shop (if applicable) - Responsible for overall sales, profitability, purchasing, customer service, visual merchandising, marketing, operations, and inventory management of the Gift Shop.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership position managing a team.
- Experience in a community, health care, or related organization.
- Experience managing department budgets.
- Computer skills in working with spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred - experience in leading a volunteer program.
- Preferred - experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- Preferred - Bachelor's Degree. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
