Beacon Breaks Ground on New Memorial Hospital Patient Tower
In October 2022, Beacon Health System leaders broke ground on the new 10-story patient care tower on the campus of Memorial Hospital of South Bend. This transformational, once-in-a-generation project is designed to enrich the patient, family and visitor experience while meeting the growing healthcare needs of residents in our area for decades to come.

Summary
The Manager of Value Analysis serves as a strategic partner to clinical and operational leadership across the health system. This role is responsible for leading value analysis efforts that support cost-effective, evidence-based decision-making regarding the selection and utilization of medical products, devices, and technologies. The Manager will facilitate clinical product evaluations, collaborate with physicians and key stakeholders, and ensure alignment with clinical usage patterns, contracting strategies, and patient care standards.

Value Analysis Program Management
- Lead and manage the value analysis process for assigned service lines and product categories, with emphasis on clinical standardization and quality outcomes.
- Facilitate value analysis committee meetings, ensuring proper documentation, action tracking, and accountability in product decisions.
- Coordinate the introduction, evaluation, and adoption of new medical products and technologies, focusing on clinical efficacy and cost-effectiveness.
Clinical Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner closely with physicians, clinicians, and department leaders to assess clinical needs, product usage trends, and practice variations.
- Act as the primary liaison between clinical teams and Supply Chain for product evaluations and standardization initiatives.
- Promote adherence to system contracts and drive alignment with supply chain strategies through collaborative clinical engagement.
Product-Level Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform product-specific data analysis, including spend analysis, utilization benchmarking, and cost/benefit comparisons to support informed decision-making.
- Develop business cases, financial impact assessments, and utilization reports for product requests or changes.
- Track and report on value realization metrics such as savings, cost avoidance, and contract compliance.
Product Implementation & Change Management
- Lead or support implementation of product conversions, new technology introductions, and supply standardization projects within clinical environments.
- Coordinate with sourcing, procurement, and clinical education teams to ensure effective adoption of product changes.
- Identify and mitigate risks to clinical workflows, quality, or operations during product transitions.
Policy & Regulatory Alignment
- Support the creation and enforcement of product evaluation policies that align with regulatory, safety, and accreditation standards.
- Maintain documentation and audit-ready records of product evaluations, committee decisions, and outcomes.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:
- Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
- Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
- Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
- Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
- Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
- Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
- Complies with established organization and department policies.
- Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field required.
- Clinical background (e.g., RN) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in value analysis, clinical sourcing, or supply chain with direct involvement in clinical stakeholder engagement.
Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of clinical practice environments and healthcare product utilization.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a focus on engaging physicians and clinicians.
- Proficiency in product-level analytics, business case development, and trend reporting (e.g., Tableau, Excel).
- Experience leading clinical product conversions and managing change in complex healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with EHR systems, product evaluation workflows, and supply chain technologies preferred.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with consistent on-site presence across hospitals and care settings.
- Occasional inter-facility travel.
- Flexibility to attend early morning or after-hours clinical meetings as needed.
Physical Demands
- Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
