Seal Dynamics is currently recruiting a Manager Supply Chain.

  • This role is on-site and reports into our Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY

ROLE - Manager Supply Chain

Manages and oversees overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory control, logistics, materials planning, vendor managed inventory programs and global customer consignment inventory programs. Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations. Coordinates and resolves issues regarding existing and new products. Interfaces with Product Managers on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet commitments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:

  • Work in conjunction with the Product Managers, Strategic Partners and other Vendors to determine appropriate stocking levels, Safety Stock and re-order points for stock Products at multiple domestic and international stocking locations.

  • Manage and Maintain the Item Master file within the ERP to meet operational, trade compliance and quality requirements.

  • Assist in development, improvement and maintenance of systems required to identify and manage optimum stocking levels including managing supplier lead times (published vs actual) along with historical delivery performance to minimize stock out positions.

  • Monitor delivery performance expectations for contractual commitments.

  • Develop and Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

  • Identify Opportunities to improve efficiency including process/work flow improvements, system changes and organizational improvements.

  • Supports Seal Dynamics kitting program with component sourcing and releasing jobs into the production schedule

  • Manage Purchasing

  • Lead, mentor, and develop buyers, planners, and supply chain professionals.

  • Actively manage open purchase order backlog including expedites, pushouts, quantity changes, and cancellations.

  • Manage Sourcing of new products and re-sourcing of existing products with both domestic and foreign suppliers.

  • Manage Purchase Order Backlog to significantly reduce past due material

  • Coordinate quarterly conference calls or visits with suppliers to review performance

  • Create and enforce appropriate Purchasing controls to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

  • Ensure proper flow down of Customer requirements to suppliers via purchase orders.

  • Identify Opportunities to improve efficiency including process/work flow improvements, system changes and reporting/communications enhancements.

  • Logistics

  • Identify efficient transportation means and frequency to reduce logistics costs.

  • Maintain clear understanding of tariffs, duties, freight costs, and trade regulations.

  • Manage and process all inbound logistics, foreign and domestic shipments.

  • Select, manage, and optimize relationships with air, ocean, and ground transportation carriers to balance cost, service levels, and lead times.
