What Strategic Sourcing - National Brands contributes to Cardinal Health

Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.

Provide supplier relationship management, end to end supply chain support, and cross-functional operational improvements. Leverage fact based data and analytics to negotiate contracts for goods and services that meet or exceed fiscal expectations. Responsible for performance management, including maximization of financial deliverables and risk mitigation. Create strategies and influence internal and external stakeholders to execute effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a significant portfolio of Medical National Brand suppliers - $1B in annual portfolio purchases.

  • Creates negotiation strategy, participates and may lead re-negotiation/implementation of Distribution Service Agreements, develops contract terms and conditions to elevate rates/terms and mitigate risk.

  • Interpret supplier agreements to ensure full alignment on mutual obligations and operational responsibilities.

  • Lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle for assigned suppliers, including drafting terms, negotiating redlines, and securing final execution.

  • Expand supplier scorecard utilization to improve supplier performance, drive EDI compliance.

  • Deliver a positive supplier experience, build strategic relationships.

  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and manage effectively across a heavily matrixed organization.

  • Ability to analyze, summarize and communicate data for all organizational levels.

  • Deliver compelling business case presentations to external VP/C-suite leaders to secure beneficial financial and operational outcomes.

  • Leads with influence to facilitate cross-functional issue resolution and process improvement.

  • Utilizes industry business and market data for strategy and value creation.

  • Demonstrates a strong financial acumen.

  • Strong project and process management skills.

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Experience in sourcing, sales, marketing and/or negotiations with the ability to demonstrate financial acumen

  • Ability to develop strong relationships internally and externally

  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate market and supplier needs, opportunities, and risks

  • Ability to leverage tools to interpret and organize data to create compelling cases to drive supplier funding opportunities

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage projects and processes

Anticipated salary range: $105,100 - $135,090
